removing '4x4' from mudflap

Anyone have any tips or ideas on removing the white '4x4' from the mudflaps on a '05 Tacoma without ˟˟˟˟˟˟ them up??
Not sure if its a sticker or something like paint??
Thanks for your help!

After doing that, hit it with some 3M plastic polish, that stuff works wonders. My headlights look brand new now!

On my 94, it was flaking off a little, so I just took a new sharp utility knife blade and scraped it the rest of the way off

I just took mine off. The first time I offroaded the truck it about ripped them off anyway.

the prerunner models dont have the "4x4" on them, but i bet that they would be pricey from the dealer, but worth checking out though

Try sanding down with sand paper and then spray the mudflaps with flat black exterior paint. Worked wonders for my aftermarket flaps on my Blazer a few years back.

Paint thinner did the trick, with a lot of elbow grease... Looks good with the raised '4x4' which is still noticable without the white paint.
Why??
I completely debadged my truck the day I drove it home. I think all vehicles look so much cleaner without all the emblems on them. The white '4x4' has been bugging me for a while now, probably would have left it alone if it was the same color as the truck, speedway blue.
I know... I need help

20 Years ago I had the same issue with my '85 (yes I sold it )

Covered it with a black "Armorall" like product.. lasted untill '93 when I sold it.. ..

Wanted to do the same on the '90 (now gone ) and the '96 but have never found the stuff again.. but I don' look real hard..
