dont be too discouraged by the tranny comments, its a PITA the first few times you do it on any vehicle but it becomes easier once you get a system down. I did my flywheel/clutch in 3 hours flat start to finish with a friend after doing it several times beforehand, and that was using nothing but a 3ton floorjack and a small hydraulic table with some shims.

If there is a possible leak synthetic oil will bring it out. You may try going back to conventional, it that doesn't fix it try some blacklight dye to pinpoint the leak,
