Rear Locker for my Surf/ 4runner: Need help

Guys,

I am completely non technical, and need some serious help here. Would like to install a rear electric or mechanical locker on my 1996 Surf (4Runner) fitted with 1kz diesel engine.

Any recommendation?

The electric ones, mostly from ARB are way out of my budget. SO what are my other options. Pls help and advise.

Thanks

Sajid

Aussie lockers are a great lunchbox locker so i have heard.
Although if its a daily driver a selectable locker would be much better.

Do some searching buddy, its your best friend

Go with an ARB. I don't know what model you need but I'm sure they make one that fits. You Then will also have onboard air. Selectables cost more but are worth it.

1996 Surf, look in the junk yards for factory ones. normally came on SSR-G and SSR Limited Surfs. make sure if you do to take all the electronics that go with it.

I got a lock right in my 4runner....you always know its there....just have to know how to drive with it to prevent/reduce the lurching during turns...IMO if you are going to do any street driving then no to the spool...lock right is very livable and of course air locker is the best but if your on a budget the lock right (lunch box) locker is the only way to go....unless you are able to find a used stock locker for a good deal...and even if you do you might have to regear it.
