rear diff
Hey so I was told by a friend following me last night that my rear diff is leaking but I got under there and looked with a flashlight and during daylight and cant see anything. He said it was when I hit a speed bump he could see it. Any secret spots on where this is coming from?

Just stick your head under the back and smell. Gear oil has a definite smell, and if it is leaking when you are driving, it will be all over. Mine leaked and it splashed gear oil all over the back of my vehicle, and the whole thing stank.
The safest thing would just be to take the fill plug out and check the level manually. On the off chance that you are leaking oil, you really don't want to run it dry. Checking takes less than 5 minutes.

you would have a wet stain if it were leaking, it cannot hide
unless it is the axle seals leaking into your brakes/wheels
it is probably generic road crud that fell off the axle when you hit a bump
