Quick Lok is installed in my 87 4Runner.....
Today was the day. The Quick Lok is in the rear and I've only driven it a few miles on pavement. So far, no ratcheting sound when going around corners. I hope that's a good thing!! It kinda feels a little different but nothing major on pavement. I'll be heading for some loose ground thurs. and to the hills this weekend to give it a real test.
I'll share my findings.

Well, the locker works great. Both rear tires locked makes a huge difference. I'm very pleased that there's no ratcheting from rear diff. on pavement. Only feel slight different feeling in steering when on pavement. I'll be heading for the snow line today to give a hard tryout. Not a bad investment @ 240.00

How hard would you say the install was. I just want a bunch of opinnions. I just bought an Aussie locker (Same thing really) and I want to install it but am afraid of messing up the gears. What was the hardest part??? Thanks -Seth

nothing is hard....go to 4x4wire.com and look up the locker write up...it's not an aussie but it is the exact same ....i used these instructions when i installed my aussie. very easy install, just make sure you mark everything

It's very easy and only takes 2-3 hours, start-finish. Just clean everything good with brake cleaner before it goes together and read instructions over a few times to recognize the parts you'll be working with. Also might want to change the outer axle seals and pinion seal since you'll be so close?? I did.
You'll like the added traction!!!!

Easy to change and all three...parts cost me 21.30. Check out a manual. It will cover how to do it. You'll have to disco the rear brake lines from the brake backing plate and plug them.(DO NOT!!!!!! BREAK OFF PLUGS IN END OF BRAKE LINES!!!!!!!) Option is, if they are not leaking do not touch them. My pinion seal was leaking a little.

I had mine axle seals replaced with the last brake job a year ago and the pinion was doen 2 years ago. They should still be cool right? and I'm not really in risk of damaging them by doing the locker install?
Thanks
