![Question](https://www.yotatech.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I've had my 4Runner for about 9 months and wanted to add some things to it.
1) Does NE1 know where I can get window deflectors at a reasonable cost?
2) Does NE1 know where to get a KN fiter at a reasonable cost?
Thanks
Danny

Performanceproducts.com sells both items. Not sure if they are the best price around but that's where I get most of my stuff since I am overseas. What Gen is your 4-Runner?

Hi Danny, I would also go with the Amsoil air filter, and possibly look into doing the "deck plate" mod. That will give you some free horses.
On the gen thing, there are 3 gens.
Here is a little history on the 'Runner:
http://www.off-road.com/toyota/4runner/history.html
Also look on Jalaber's page and click on 4Runner history under the Information header.
He has the sweetest most detailed write-up on the history of them.
For the deck plate mod, look in our "Tech" section listed on the forums main Index page.
Once again Jalaber has a nice detailed write-up on how to do the mod.
If I had a 3rd gen, that would be one of the 1st mods I would do.
Also to give you can idea of what others have done to their rigs, check out his "friends" list on his page.
I have a list on my page too, but have not updated it in awhile.
Don't blame me now if your boss catches you reading about 4Runners all day

I got my ventvisors at Pep Boys for $50. I shopped around and found that the cheapest place. You will, more than likely, have to special order them, but no problem and they are well worth the money. That is the first thing I got on my rig and I am so glad. It really helps when it is hot outside and you don't have to worry about the rain! :fireman:

But I would personally recommend the Amsoil/Deckplate combo and Weatherflectors. If you decide to order the Amsoil I would also suggest ordering from Gadgets page as Phil said, he put alot of time into his site and documentation and deserves the credit. He also shows proves that the Amsoil/Deckplate gives more horse for less bucks than the K&N.
I have pics of the Weatherflectors on my pages, personally I prefer them to the Vent Visor brand.

The deck plate mod info and write up is found here at Yota in the tech section Deck Plate Mod . This wonderful write up was done by member jalaber (J.A.). You may want to check out his site as well as it has a multitude of info. While your at it check out Corey's Web site Corey . This should help you out tremendously and provide great reading and Runner "Mod" info. Welcome aboard my man.

I don't know if it will void a warranty or not.
But to see a detailed write-up on it, just visit our Tech section here at Yotatech on the index page and look for Jalabers' write-up.
Quite a few 3rd gen owners have performed this mod.
Jason B also has done it, and if you look in the member list, you can find his homepage and see his write-up.

Thanks Corey.
I favor the amsoil™ and it's been rated the best so far.
If you add it, you will also want to do the "deckplate" mod.

I went with the Vent Visors™ from Pep Boys for about $49. I really like the darker color of these and they blend great with the dark tint.

Jason, is that aftermarket tint or is that stock. I know mine has an almost mirror tint, I guess they call it privacy tint. Just wondering if yours came w/ that or if you did the dark tint, or what? Thanks dude! :fireman:

Everything behind the front driver/passenger windows is STOCK tint from Toyota. I think the 2nd gens has a more mirrory tint to them from Toyota.
I then added some aftermarket tint to my front two windows to help blend them all in. That made for a good transition.
