I had the 12286 24" magnaflow muffler installed on my 98 with the 2.7 engine. The stock muffler was only 18", but i decided on the larger, quieter one, since it is my significant other's daily driver. The 24" magnaflow is only very slightly louder than stock on the 2.7. Thats a good thing on this truck, since she can't handle the loud stuff. If it was my daily driver truck, i would have probably gone with the 18" muffler, but i am happy with the one i've got.
