Question on cats and Toyota warranty
My CEL came on and it's the infamous P0420. Either cats or 02 sensor. The truck has 141k on it. Does anyone know if by any chance the cats were never replaced under the warranty, if it's too late? Do I just call the dealer and ask them to run the VIN? They weren't replacing them due to a recall were they?

i dont believe there was ever a recall on them, but it was an issue.
if that makes sense.
try cleaning your 02 sensor.
if that doesnt clear it up def give that dealer a call just to see whats up.
my 2 cents

Yeah, that does suck. For Toyota, cuz I'm not paying no $1500 for some cats.
I know it could be the 02 sensor, so I will check those first. Maybe replace the rear since I've read that is what triggers the CEL.
I've also read there are some cheap cats on ebay for like $65. Most likely they will keep the CEL on, but does anyone know anything about the cats from AutohausAZ? Says list price is $1330, their price $315. Could they be the same as the dealer cats, and shut off the CEL?
