A Question for the Ages: White or black?
Getting the new 285/75 bfg at's this friday, and as much as i was for the all black tire, some with the white lettering have caught my attention. Now i suppose it just comes down to personal taste but I wanted to see what you guys thought for my 4runner. the argument goes both ways in my head, i need some outside voices haha

Black. Unless Bridgestone or Michelin decides to sponsor me, I'm keeping it all low key. Personally, I feel like that's almost equivalent to putting up a big "Toyota" windshield banner. Just my personal opinion.

i have a toyota windshield banner... unless that's what you meant
i mean its not THAT big of a deal, you just spent 800 dollars on their product i figure you're happy to sport them anyways.
and is your name from 311's bassist or am i just reading too far into it?

All I'm saying is that it's all personal preference. You can put neon ground efx and chrome 22's on your rig for all I care. It's your ride. I just find the white letters and banners not that appealing. The rest of your truck looks awesome, though.
And, yes, from 311. Used to be one of my favorite bands.

I have mine with the letters facing in since my tires on the rear axle don't match the ones on the front. If they did all match I would probably have the letters facing out.

used to be?!
also, these rims won't be black for too long. i'm getting quotes from several powdercoaters in the area for the rockcrawlers, i'm going for the same color wjwerdna did his lc wheels in. i'm also getting quoted on the limited flares/rocker panels from factory and possibly getting those color matched as well

Dude...look at your Avatar!
I put the black out on my BFG's on my 4Runner and White out on my '86 CJ.
I like the white out better....but that's what I grew up with....I don't like black wheels either.....
I will say though, it depends on the vehicle and the color!

Personally i will be having mine switched around so that the white lettering is OUT. I think it looks great on 3rd gens.
I had mine parked near another 3rd gen the other day only real differnce was the white lettering and his looked a lot sportier.
But as was said all personal choice.
(go white out...;-)

i think what i'm going to do is since i have the last appointment this friday i'm going to ask him to do 2 white and two black, one side black the other white. then sit there for no less than 7 minutes and ponder.....................
then i'll pay him a couple extra bucks for the trouble and ask him to fix the other two depending on which way i go. i'm getting an irbis rear bumper soon and the 4runner they show it on has the bfg ats with whites out and it looks rather sexy
edit: saw a black wrangler about an hour ago. lifted, black bfg ats on rockcrawlers....whites out, looked nice
