question about transfer case
I have a 93 4runner with an A340H auto tranny. When i tried to look up which tranfer case i had, the website only gave one t-case behind an A340H; an electronically activated, hydraulic t-case that cant be separated from the tranny. i DO know that that isnt what i have. mine is manually shifted (not sure if its top or forward shift), and it could be separated. any help would be appreciated. thanks guys alex

My tranny code is on the plate on the door panel I think. I have a '91 Shop manual that list an A340F as well as an A340H. The H is the hydraulically controlled one and if you look underneath it should have a transmission fluid cooler tucked up beside the transmission. On a '93 it should be a lever actuated transfer case. The transmission itself is electronically controlled. I haven't heard of anyone having the A340F A/T on a 2nd gen.
