Problems with shaky acceleration
Have an 02 runner V6 automatic. When applying light acceleration, my runner has been hesitating, in any gear at just about any speed. 50mph through 60mph seems to be a big issue, somewhere around 1600 rpms? But ONLY under light acceleration, a heavy foot and no symptoms. Low RPM's will create a jerky motion where it seems like the motor is missing somewhere. Will do this whether the temp is warm or cold.
I thought it might be bad fuel or water in the fuel so i ran some iso-heet through a tank with no luck. I've done a search and read about some similar issues. Suggestions have been MAF, Plugs + wires, cats.
I was planning on installing my vortex this week and ditching the cat, but due to this problem i'm hesitant. My volant intake is coming soon, and i plan on cleaning the MAF and TB as well as changing the plugs and wires with NGK as soon as i can.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The vortex is a just a different muffler, like the one Jason B. is running. I do have a Volant air intake on the way. Not worried about HP from the cat, just dont wanna have to worry about it clogging anymore. You should see how many Chevy's in my town dont have anything on their exhaust. snap snap snap snap....

I assume you have no CEL right now as well?
You might also check the ignition coils and the TPS after you've done the plugs and wires.

Update..... Changed the plugs and wires with NGK stuff, and also cleaned the MAS, and she's running as nice as ever. Thanks for the help/suggestions guys.
Oh yeah! Just had my vortex muffler installed. That thing really growls!

I just fixed this EXACT problem on my truck after having it for nearly a year. New plug wires. PERIOD. I replaced the fuel filter, and even the TPS. All came down to the wires.
