Finally got around to taking pics of the new wheel/tire combo. They are Pro Comp Xtreme MTs(285/75/16) mounted on Pro Comp 7089s(16x8). I really like this tire a lot, very good road manners and works well offroad from what I've seen and heard. Thanks again to Paul, aka "Masterwacker" on here for the great deal on everything!

Interesting. I don't know that I like that art deco sidebiter style but how do they ride? Curious if they are a big improvement over the Extreme tires I see all the time around town.

 

Just looking at the two, I much prefer the look of the Xtreme MTs over the XTerrains. It's essentially the Cooper Discoverer STT tire with a little different sidwall look. They ride great IMO, especially compared to the Goodyear MTRs I had and not much louder than the Nitto TGs I had on previously.

 

I kind of got a great deal, so I hate to say exactly. The tires list around $180 and the wheels $120 I believe.

Holy gawd those look like they would tear up asphalt! Remember that old toy truck where the wheels split apart and exposed fangs that would crawl up anything? Reminds me of that.

Many of these mods too can be applied to any Toyota, not just FJ Cruisers.

 

That's a clean setup. I've loved those wheels ever since I saw them on Coreys FJ. Now I have to save up my money for a set...

I like the caps myself.

Our tread pattern is also similar.
Pro-Comp, Dick Cepek, they are made in the Cooper molds.
