pro comp es3000 vs es9000

whats the difference? theres a small price difference between the two, are the 9000's firmer? I am on a small budget so blistiens aren't really a choice for me, and I don't plan on lifting the truck, but I want it to handle well on and off road. Ride comfort is important but as long as its better then my blown out shocks or my VW that was slammed on cheap coil overs I will be happy.
any advice?

I'm wondering the same thing. My 4runner is lifted 3" with cruiser coils but my dd so I'd say we're in the same boat here. Something comfortable on the road and not too bone jarring off.

Anybody wanna chime in?

I have the ES9000 and I think that they are great......Never have been on a set of 3000 so I can not speak for them. I pick up a lot of comfort on the DD going from the factory "TEMS" shocks to the pro comps and they can hold up to the off road follies as well.

I have both. The ES3000's are " cellular gas charged" and the ES9000's are "nitrogen gas charged". The biggest thing I noticed when installing them was with the 3000's, the shock piston did not push out on it's own, like if you push down on the piston and compress it all the way, it would not come back out on its own, you would have to pull on it. With the 9000's, the piston did push itself back out after you compress it. The 9000's are probably more responsive.

Yes, the 9000s are supposed to be stiffer (that's what the sales guy at 4wheelparts said).

I went with the 3000s since they're a bit softer and perhaps less responsive.

My rig is my DD, and only wheel a few times a year, hence the softer shocks.

I heard the 3000s don't extend as far as Rancho's but, I never tried Rancho's so I couldn't tell ya. Maybe a more seasoned 4Wheeler may comment on this.

Can someone compair the ProComps with OME?

I've only run stock and OME but my rear shocks are a little short.

I'm travelling to Canada this august and in America you've very good prices so probably I'll pick a pair.

Thanks,

David
