Power inverter problems with cig lighter

Was charging a camera when the inverter started making funny noises and then no power to cig lighter, radio or clock. Check the fuses (they all looked good) but couldn't find which one was for the radio and clock? Any similar problems???

How big of a voltage inverter is it? It might have shorted some of the wiring. I actually used a relay connected to the "accessory" circuit to allow a switched 30A circuit receiving its power directly from the battery so it doesn't affect the fuse panel in the truck. I am running a 2000 watt inverter directly fed from the battery as well.

It's a POS from Wal-Mart. PowerLine 140 watts continous and 200 watts peak. This is it.

There could have been a short. My cigarette lighter outlet shorted out a while back. I wired in a multi outlet to that switched 30A circuit that is fed directly from the battery.

Well- my AC light has been out a while and I wanted to hook my iPod through the stereo so I guess it's a good time to pull the dash apart. Not very good as this type of stuff.

Yeah, I have a CD stereo that has an HD radio tuner built in, a USB connector that I can plug in my MP3 player, thumbdrive, or a external hard drive, AUX jack, and bluetooth capability. It does it all, and I liked it so much I bought another one for my car. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1179876484523

Anyone know why none of the other three outlets aren't working? Even the one in the back?

Check the fuses again and replace them, they may not look bad but they can be. I had the same issue in my truck once, fuse blew but it still looked good.

Wire the inverter directly to the battery or another higher amp fuse. Cigg lighter fuse is only max of 10apms iirc (more likely around 7.5).
