power converter question

yo guys-

just got my power converter from tacoma dude (thanks again) and i am noticing the power cables to connect to the battery are rather short. the manual says not to extend them, but would there be anything wrong with extending them if i used the same wire thickness, etc. ive wired up might lights, so, this seems like no big deal to me

You might want to redo the wires on them yourself and use a thicker gauge wire, then reconnect your battery clamps to them.

Or you could hardwire the unit like I did.

That way you don't have to mess around with the battery clamps.

cool corey.

where did you get that distribution box thingy? i wouldnt mind using that instead of running my power cable all the way up to the battery.

doink,

read my write up too: http://www.4runners.org/articles/dist
it was based on corey's write up and advice from cebby and bumpin'.

i got my stuff from ebay and sounddomain.com. that part took me the longest: finding all the parts. sounddomain is a tad bit pricey, but they have everything.

its definitely worth it to do this mod. you use it once and then you'll say "why didn't i do this sooner?"
