I'm not sure what kind of write up you want.

1)pull out the surround piece.
2) There is a divider between the cig lighter and the ash tray. I took a lighter and melted the plastic and then cut it while it was hot with knife. I guess you could use a hot knife. (I just didn't have one.)
3) The AC/heat controls easly locate to the bottom, and there are two scews I drilled through the plate to hold it in.
4) The new radio actually sits rigt in place, and is nice and snug. I kept test fitting and cutting the plastic to make it as perfect as I could. In the back the radio sits on the bottom portion of what is left of the ashtray.
5) I got a piece of wood, measured out the size of the double din space, and then cut the whole out for the screen. The wood is cut in the center in such a way that it holds the screen inside. (kinda like a picture frame). Then wrapped the wood in vinyl and used a bit of glue.
6) The cig lighter and the additional outlets have been relocated to the passenger side wall. All I had to do was drill a hole for those, and extend the +/- and neg wires to reach it.

I believe thats it .. it took me almost a month to get it right. I just kept test fitting things, pulling them out, cutting a little, and then refitting them. I hope that helps.

Honestly you just have to pull out that center piece one day and just look around back in there. Theres lots of room, and the longer you sit and stare at it, the more ideas you'll get.

i'm going to desolder the connector from the back of the faceplate. and solder directly to the back, then have the connector on the other end pluged into the head unit.

things i need to work out is mounting, and if im just going to tape the button in that lets it know a faceplate is there, and also how to keep the connector in place it doesnt seem like it will stay on its own.

pioneer head units are only 9 pins and it should be less messy than the example above
