Hey Bob,

I am not running a front locker, but it is sometimes nice to be able to back up a trailer in 2wd low gearing. With an open front diff and this mod you could easily do that. It's sometimes a little trickey backing up the trailer into the carport when the sunlight is on your back windows and I am going around a corner into a dark carport. Slow is nice then, don't have to play with the clutch.
Looks like I was right (thanks a bunch double down for the diagram) on the relay switching between the two solenoids.

I attached a real crappy pic of the changes

I've seen the twin stick, but this will do the same for me and it looks better imo. We were also talking about the poor people up here .

One of the diagrams shows the relay in the neighbourhood of the ECU, I am guessing behind the pass. side kickpanel or behind the glovebox.
I tried moving the 4wd lever with the ignition turned on (engine & radio off) and I could hear the relay click in that area. Should be easy to find once I take the glovebox and the kickpanel off. I have the mechanical old school 4wd lever, but it should be the same with the 4wd button.

I also noticed a wire going to the abs unit from the 4wd switch. I bet if you take that and ground it you'll disable the abs system. I haven't seen those diagrams before, everything looks quite simple.

aka "the MDD mod™" from here on

Once I get some more time I'll do it also. I still have yota button laying around somewhere which would be good for that.

Sonny, the 8th I may be helping my buddy put camaro FI in his throttly body injection K5 Blazer, but if that falls apart then I may be interested for that weekend... and easter will get me killed!!!!

I think the runner is going to need a rear Elocker actuator, which is $$$$$... I am going to run by NSOR on friday and ask about a cable locker kit for it... I am also going to look into rock sliders too....

Did anyone complete the MDD mod?

I am looking for a simple way to unloack the front so I can back up my trailer in low range.

I haven't gotten around to it yet, my rear locker also quit working in the meanwhile, more stuff on the list.
I will work, maybe in spring I'll take a look at it.
