Poll: 4th gen pic up top of forum??

I really like the picture at the top of the forum showing three generations of 4Runners.

Is it time to add the 4th?

I have a real cool pic of all 4 gens of 4runner.... Happen by chance while a group of yotas were out on the trail. Found someone on the trail w/ a 1st gen so...

I know this pic isn't all that but hey it's gotta be the first 4 gen pic

Complements of another member on 4x4wire!!!

Dude......
That's a great 4 gen pic.
I have been meaning to get one, but last Nov. when we all went out, Jon left his 4th gen at home, and brought the 3rd gen instead.

We are also looking at making a new banner later on to replace the current one.

I have messed around a bit with MS Picture It! just for the fun of it.

http://www.toyotaoffroad.net/tando/y.../yotapage3.jpg

Mine are just dinking around.
What we'd really like to see is a picture of 4Runners & trucks in an action shot, and it should be about the same pixel width (425) as the current one we have now.
That just overlaps those purple buttons underneath the logo.

PS, do you have another pic of the 4th gen in the pic all the way?

i think the fourthie should be included, maybe even in a similar picture like the one up there now.

at the last so cal meet we had all 4 generations represented. if we meet up again like that, we should take a banner picture.

The pic

Yes, although I don't particularly like the styling of the 4th gen., it IS still a 4Runner, and a damn good off-roading machine. I think we need to get all 4 4Runners and all 3 (?) Tacomas lined up and have that at the heading. They need to be in this order, or vice-versa: 4th gen. black, 3rd gen. white, 2nd gen. black, 1st gen. white, 3rd gen. Taco white, 2nd gen. Taco black, 1st gen. Taco white. Chances that this will happen out of the blue? One in exactly 1,034,590,832,340,297,662,807, unless we get together somewhere. I just think it'd be a really awesome pic.

I've got an idea: Instead of having a picture of all 4 generations in it, why not just get individual pictures of them, all in equal size. It would be like what Toyota does with their commercials. They have a picture of a Toyota vehicle behind each of the letters that make out Toyota. Looks real nice. That would look real good in black and white like the above pic too. Since there are only 4 generations, you could just use the words YOTA or TECH or something like that.

Or maybe a checker board design with every generation of every truck and SUV Toyota has made and is making. I dunno.

I do like the existing one though.
Well, that's my $.02.

Have fun all.

Here is a Power Point file from Toyota that was on the photo CD of pics I had up before the 4th gen hit the streets.
I was told by Toyota to take down the pics until the embargo was lifted, then I could put them up again.

The file is linked from the 4th gen test of Jon's (TooEZGoin) rig.
http://www.pnw4runners.net/03_4runner/03_4runner.htm

At the bottom you will see the link to 108 pics of the 4th gen, and on the 2nd page of pics, is the Power Point file linked from Phong's server.
It is 35 mb big.
http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/htruong/2003_4Runner.ppt

If someone knows how to extract a picture from the Power Point file, there are some in it of all 4 gens.

Here is Jon's 4th gen from that test last Oct.
http://www.pnw4runners.net/03_4runner/4.jpg

We call that Avatar Mountain, as a few of us have pics of our rigs in that same spot, and have used it for an avatar.

Or we could make some kind of GIF or applet that'll fade from the first gen to the second gen to the third gen to the fourth. I think that'd be pretty cool if we could get the right pics together.

I second that method too.
They would each have to be the same size so it looks good.

Even a Flash/JAVA aplet that could fade like that coud be made with Anfy.
http://www.anfyteam.com/

I use their aplets on my page.
Look on my home page for my fade aplet.
The pics can be any size, and the software makes all the code for you.

If you make a fade aplet, the pics should all be the same size.
Check out mine to see what I mean.
I have 4 pictures loaded into it now.

I can come up with the ideas easy... it's getting them onto the computer that stumps me. Just thought I'd throw another idea... after all 4 gens have faded through, we could make it to where "Yotatech" would come up like something approaching you. Like, start off small then grow larger and BOOM... kinda like a punch to the face and have it bounce once or twice afterwards, as if it hit a wall. That would be cool.

I'll have a test fade aplet made up of 4 different gens I found by tomorrow morning.

Prime time TC is on now as in "Enterprise", and I don't miss that for anything

I might throw some truck in also if I find a few.

I'll have something by 10 am PST time tomorrow as a test you can look at.

Sweet! I would recommend having just one kind of fade, like picture-black-picture and have the whole picture fade at once (fade not originating from a particular spot--not sure if that makes sense) Also, I really like the black and white pictures like what is there now. It really matches the forum colors good. I like the idea of having Toyota fade in there somewhere too.

Anyhow, that's my opinion.
Have fun all.

BTW, I just finished watching Enterprise a bit ago. Love that show! Voyager was better though.

sounds good corey, i look foward to seeing it.

in the mean time, i put off homework to play around with an idea. i think it'd be cool to have all the gens lined up together in a real picure, but the sepratate idea could work too...
