Nothin fancy to for towing on the truck. Just trailer brake controller, 4.56 gears, and a 3.4.
winch in case.

Trailer is a 16' KZ Escape. Scale weights 3000. With my estimates 3500 loaded with all the gear.

The truck pulls it very well. Even in the snow.

Nice bimmer! When I lived in Florida and worked at the BMW dealer I knew a few people who raced bimmers (M3, 320i, and 2002). I had a '74 2002 with a 5spd conversion and would love to race it (but I had to sell it in 2005).

It's a SpecE30, which is a series sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association. We have cars all over the US with some pretty big fields (20+ cars) in several regions.

The car weighs right at 2500 lbs and the trailer is somewhere around 1200 lbs. I probably get about another 1000 lbs of stuff (tools, wheels/tires, random gear) in the truck or on the trailer. With electric brakes on both trailer axles and a weight distribution hitch it pulls great. In September we made a 1100 mile round trip to Mid-Ohio with zero problems towing.

I dont understand why people are so critical of these vehicle towing? I pulled a 3500 lb boat with my 3.0, yes, 3.0 without any problems (5spd). I am hoping my now up and running 3.4 swap would be much more capable!

Lol ok that's what I like to hear! Maybe I'm just over excited about getting that 3.0 outta my 4runner and the new found power of the 3.4! Gotta say I'm jealous of you 3rd gen guys!

Pic taken this weekend--a 35' weeping willow tree in a double axle 8x12 galvanized trailer. I was faced with a short merge onto a fast-moving street. All I can say is the loaded trailer and too much tongue weight didn't prevent two nice long black marks from being left on the pavement thanks to the supercharger and manual transmission.

I am planning a lift upgrade on my truck in the next few months. Taking out stock coils and cornfed spacers and replacing them with the LC coils. Will this have any issue on pulling a 3000-3500lbs travel trailer? I have no issues right now other then a little sag in the ass with the 4runner.

I am also looking into getting a weight distribution setup to help with the sag while towing.

Whats size tires, gearing, and moter are you running? Is there any reseon it wouldn't?

More importantly, your question doesnt really make sense if you read through this post.
