PIC REQUEST: TJM T-17 w/hoop

I am 1/3 of the way toward my purchase of a new bumper

so since i am obsessed with all of this, i might as well spend my time that im saving thinking about which one im gonna get.

I want a TJM T-17, but i want to jazz it up with a hoop of some kind. these are the options i have seen through searching:

1) Sonoran Steel (http://www.sonoransteel.com/SS_TJM_T-17_Hoops_005.jpg) - im not sure thats quite what im looking for.

2) ARB Sahara Hoop... I have seen people saying they can add these to tjm t-17s, but have seen no pics. Is this true? If so, can someone post pics, particularly if youve done this yourself?

3) TJM Hoop... I've seen people on here in a few posts make reference to TJM T-17 Hoops that are available. Again: Is this true? If so, can someone post pics, particularly if youve done this yourself?

I am not looking for someone to tell me to "just get the T-15"... i know thats an option, but its not necessarily what I want to do.

I'm obviously looking for these pics to be of 3rd gens, but ill appreciate whatever is posted.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Lee,

The only other person Ive seen add hoops or anything like that to their TJM 17 is Mtn Goat. He cut and welded the stock 4runner brushguard to his T17. Looks pretty nice.

lee,

yeah, they were pretty popular on the 96-98s here in CA. however, i dont think they made them past 98. or at least, i have never seen them on 99 or newer models

I've heard of people hacking up brush guards and cheap bull bars to get hoops for flat bumpers like the 17. I've also heard of people taking the T15 and cutting off the hoops that protect the headlights, leaving only the center hoop. I've never heard of any non-fabbed solution like what you are looking for.

I'm with Lee on this as well. I'm about to get the t-17 and I was wanting a hoop like the ARB Sahara bumper except black to match. TJM apparantly used to make this type hoop but for some reason they stopped producing them. If anyone has a solution I would like to know as well.

You could have a hoop fabbed too. The Sahara bar hoop isn' that compex.

i even have access to a mandrel pipe bender....

Talk to Shaefer, have the bumper dropped on his doorstep. He can hack it up, get it painted/coated/whatever you want, and air-freight it off to you.

After talking to Steve, this can be done, but you'll then probably have to get the entire bumper re-powdercoated, (you can't just touch up the spots that were cut) which will be somewhere around $200.

Thanks, yes I'm responsible for the whole thing. Cutting done with an angle grinder and cutoff wheels and the welding was TIG.
