PF pads and Powerslot; first impressions
Two nights ago i took the plunge and upgraded to PF pads and powerslot rotors since my factory rotors would vibrate a lot when i hit the brakes.
At first when i put them on, the braking power felt a little reduced. I guess it's because the pads had to wear in. But i followed the recommendations on the print-out that powerslot had for break-in. Slowly but surely the pads got more "grippy" as the pads started to wear in.
Overall, quite a bit of improvement over stock. The warping/ vibration in the wheel has also disappeared. I'm not sure if it was the PF pads or the rotors, but braking is greatly improved. (it was probably the pads since they usually make a bigger difference).
A couple of things though; when i first installed the pads and rotors, and the front end was still lifted, i spun the front wheels around and i could hear just a tad bit of rubbing between the pads and the rotors. Is this normal?
One last thing, if i brake from higher speeds pretty firmly, i will feel just a tad bit of vibration on my brake pedal just before the truck slows to a stop. Will this feeling go away as the pads wear in even more?
Overall... i'm glad i did the ugprade. Thanks to all the board members here for the help and recommendations. I recommend this setup to anyone with brake problems.
