PaveYota, roof lamp wiring
Paveyota, I took some taking pics to explain how I ran my wires from the roof to the engine bay as you had asked on Greenwater post.
NOTE:
The below talking pics may not work properly if you try to stream them in. The voice may cut out. It's best to save them to the desktop.
Picture 1 shows the wires on the roof entering the doors gasket seal.
They are tucked in behind it and are stealth. They don't show at all.
Picture 2 shows where the wire exits the gasket and enters the fender seam.
Picture 3 shows where the wires exit the fender seam and where I drill one hole and ran them through the hole.
From there you can see the wires in the engine bay with the yellow wire connectors on them where I patched them into the wire that goes to it's connector on the Hella 30 amp relay that is on the firewall.
Pretty easy job doing it this way as they are hidden well.
I want to eventually put a pair of Hella 500's on the back of the rack, but not sure yet how I'm going to go about wiring them.
I want to tap into the lamps I already have under there.
Hope this helps. Also check out Jackson's write-up on roof lights in our Tech section under the electrical area.
Ooops, Jackson, your site seems to be down right now. It's not coming up.
