The P0440, P0441, P0446 Trifecta - Need Advice
I have a 2002 4Runner, ~160k miles (I bought it at around 147k).
I got the codes awhile ago, did some research and charcoal canister seemed to be the most likely candidate. I find one from a junk yard on eBay and swap it out, reset the computer.
Codes come back after ~600 miles. Darn. Okay so I research some more and everyone mentions this VSV valve in the rear. It's only $25 on Amazon so I get one. I didn't realize until I go to put it in that it's part of the the charcoal canister assembly I just replaced but eh, what the heck, I swap that part out anyway.
Codes come back after ~600 miles. What's left?
I've inspected the filer neck and tubes. I never see any evidence of leaking fluid but it's a 11 year old vehicle sure there is rust everywhere underneath.
What is the next thing I can try replacing? Curiously, the VCV EVAP (in the front) has a white nail polish dot on it that has be wondering if it's second hand or was replaced after an accident.
But for the life of me I can't find a part number or anywhere who sells that EVAP VSV online.
Figured I'd ask the experts here for advice. Honestly I wouldn't be to concerned other than a pending emissions inspection here in the fall.
