Overheating issues

If it only overheats with your thermostat in then that would tell me the thermostat is bad.
Should not have to drill a hole in OEM thermostat. Put jiggler at 6.
Did you test thermostat on stovetop in hot water? Make sure it opens at correct temp?

Exhaust bubbles leaking into the coolant (cracked head/head gasket leak) can cause it to overheat by building up a pocket of air in front of the thermostat, causing it to close (air can't transfer enough heat to open it). This can't be detected by testing the thermostat in hot water but a hydrocarbon test kit will tell you if there's been exhaust in contact with the coolant. They're cheap and worth the peace of mind. Even if the test is negative, you will at least know that the heads are tight / not cracked and the gasket sealed.

These are usually cheap and it will tell you if you have a cracked head or leaking head gasket causing exhaust bubbles to get into the cooling system. Sounds to me like that's the problem.

i'd try drilling a hole in the t-stat, park it on an incline, turn heaters on full blast and run it. my guess is you have an air bubble that the t-stat is blocking and the air pocket isnt warming up enough to allow the t-stat to open.

Okay decided to pull the damn thing apart again. The head gaskets are for sure on the correct sides, however I found a default in the bank 1, passenger, right side, head gasket. It is a multi layer gasket and one of the layers the bottom most layer had one port that wasn't punched out. So I punched out the hole, and am in the process of putting it back together.

Got it running last night, however I have two injector seals leaking. So I pulled the injectors last night. I bought some seals this morning and will be putting them in tonight. I am also going to take the bank one injectors in today to get them tested because that was the leaking bank., I will update all hopefully tonight or tomorrow with if things work.

Okay she has been driving for the last two days without overheating!!!! My dashboard thermostat is broke now though..... Have to figure out what I did to that. But it seems to be working now!!! Thanks all for the help! Any insight to the broken temp gauge would be nice!
