Overheating issue .........

Just afoot note for you. I don't know what brand of antifreeze you are using but I have been using the OEM toyota antifreeze, (its the dark red color) which I know can be a bit spendy, but I have not had any issue with my cooling system using that coolant in my system. (check out my trip report to California and back) https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/t.../#post50896330
I actually ran the truck for over 150 miles including stop & go traffic, mountain pass climb to 4000 feet, and then valley running with outside air temps from 80 to 103 degrees with the AC running when the temp got over 90 and I had the electric fan turned off accidently, no over heat, no boil over.
If your system is overheating there is definitely an issue with the cooling system. I noted as well that there wasn't any mention of coolant loss or if there was you didn't mention how much you have had to replace. Seems like something somewhere is clogged or blocking coolant flow. Good luck on the fix.

Update !!
well, the shop was right. I finally received my new radiator today, got it installed and then I made the drive up the mountain for the TRUE test.
and I am happy to say that the temperature needle never even budged from a hair below the halfway mark.!!
It was kinda hard for me to believe that the radiator was the problem, with only 14,000 miles on it. But this was a lesson for me, that just because something was recently replaced, does not mean it can't be the problem!
Oh well, it was a good excuse to do the water pump and timing belt.
