optilux trouble
ok, so ive been recommending the optilux 1000 foglights for a while, and yea they really are awesome. they held up to 2 blizzard-like snow storms in addition to dozens of smaller ones, as well as a few weeks of really strong rain, and no leaks -- the primary concern on behalf of the critics.
well, it finally happened this week -- we got a small bout of rain, water leaked into my right fog and the bulb is done as a result
anyway, my car guy is recommending using some sort of silicone product to seal it from leaks. is this a good idea? im gonna let him do it and change in a new bulb at the same time just to give it a go, i guess.
anyway, just a warning that you may want to take steps toward sealing your optilux 1000s before they leak. otherwise though they are a terrific (and cost effective) mod!
