Oppinons on painting rear bumper

I swear I have the ugliest bumper known to man kind because of the rust and damage. I don't have the money to buy a new one, so I was thinking, why not paint it to try to get it to look a little better.

Im not sure though and wanted to get your oppinions on it first.

Heck yeah, paint it. I painted my chrome rear bumper and caps. Just make sure you do the prep an all that jazz correctly. Mine has held up really well. I have only had to touch up the end caps once or twice in a couple years.

Here's a shot of mine right after I did it:

Hey Dekri from what i can recall, the rear/main section and passenger side wing of my bumper is still in pretty good shape. I took it off a few months ago and its been sitting in my utility trailer ever since. If your interested in getting it for near to nothing, say $20, i could maybe deliver or you could come by and pick it up.

Once this snow storm passes through, i can give you a better idea of the condition it's in.

Here's mine painted with 3M undercoationg part# 08881. So far so good, you just got to put some armorall or something like that everytime you wash it for that new shinny look!

Rocket,
I may just have to take you up on that offer. Just let me know when a good time to run by and pick it up would be.

Thanks for the photos, Im definitly gonna paint it now. Just wanna get some questions out of the way before I dive head first into this.

JRunner90 did you put anything underneath the undercoating? I've never seen that stuff before so I'm not quite sure howto use it or what to use with it.

Yea, what I did was sand all the chome down to where it was dull and has no shinny spots then I pressured washed it down and let it air dry. Once it was dried I sprayed some rust preventive enamel primer and once that was dry I layed down the 3M undercoating!
