OME N140S & 886 on 3rd gen but they don't fit
I'm starting this thread to help a friend who's running into trouble here in Chile.
Toytec is recommending the N140S front shocks used with 886 coils as a heavy duty front setup for the 3rd gen (even though these are really meant for the 4th gen and FJC). My friend read this recommendation and purchased the N140S + 886 combo locally from ARB in Chile and when he tried to install them it turns out they don't fit, they seem to be too long. (See pictures below)
Could this be a mistake on the ToyTec's site?
Has anyone heard of this shocks/coils combo used successfully on a 3rd gen?
From the TOYTECLIFTS.COM site
EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION:
Just for clarification purposes: WE ARE NOT BLAMING TOYTEC

The shocks are what is killing you, the way I'm taking the txt from toytech is that the springs are what goes for the 3rd gen, but you need third gen shocks.
The 4th gen shocks will not work, wrong geometry, so keep the 886's and get some erd gen shocks.

The above quote is talking about the 883s NOT the 884-886. At least that is the impression I got from talking to toytec.

The 883s are the ONLY 4th gen springs recommended for 3rd gen 4runner. The 884-886 are WAY too long for a 3rd gen.

The information is not very clear on the site. Maybe they need a line break or a warning, if you get to the OME front coils product page from the 1996-2002 section, they should ONLY show products that are 100% compatible with the 3rd gen. Hopefully my friend will find a way to return & exchange the coils.
In any case, we'll call TOYTEC today.
