oil filters

FRAM = Orange can of death!!!
I use fram oil filter for 5 years now..Zero problem. i use it on my old honda CRX for 4 years. and 1 year on my 4runner. i do oil change and oil filter every 3000kms(around 2000miles). i know it is overkill but i take care of it! thats from my own experience with fram. if you dont like fram, just dont use it.
Please keep in mind I have no vested interest in this:
this is what makes "FRAM" so bad:
1) CARDBOARD END CAPS
2) CHEAP FILTER ELEMENT (THAT IS GLUED TO THE CARDBOARD END CAPS)
3) HORRIBLY WEAK FILTER ELEMENT SUPPORT (so the element can collapse under high pressure and starve your engine for oil) ask ANYONE WHO HAS MADE THIS "ORANGE" MISTAKE. The filter is crap...... and is responsiple for murdering countless engines....don't believe the HYPE!!
4) FRAM filters are crap.....and made a cheaply as possible, but hey if you want to risk your engine ...then its yours to risk!
5)4) AVOID ALL "ORANGE COLORED OIL FILTERS" BECAUSE OF THIS !!
why avoid any filter that is colored orange......?
ANSWER: Why risk the possibility of ending up with a FRAM!
Truely use what you wish. YET .....
Friends don't let friends "use FRAM" (oil filters) .....

Wix (Napa Gold) and Purilator Pureone appear to be the best at filtering the smallest particles from what I have read. I don't buy into the larger can = cooler oil theories. IMO there is no significant increase in oil volume and the can is a filter holder, not a heat sync. I due believe in the benefit of additional filter media, but you would have to have technical specs or cut the filter open to compare the quantity. I try not to assume that the bigger filter can contains more filter media just because it is bigger. There are several web sites that have such comparisons. Google can show the way
My biggest gripe about Fram (including all that Icerunner said) is that despite all of the information about history of failure, I hear friends talking about buying them because of the rubberized grip means the don?t have to buy a $3 @%$&#*!@ filter wrench!!!!
Thanks for letting me get that off of my chest!
