The hood overlapped the fender!
I think he may need to adjust the stops a little is all...

Yeah the stop needed to be adjusted...and it is missing tha rubber molded weatherstrip seal that goes between the hood and the grille..that sort of fills the gaps you see...

nice facelift though. One you get that weatherstrip then I would try adjusting. It may make the hood slightly different. Definitly looks more aggressive.

The only thing I'd have done different is to switch out the turn signals for the 4runner ones with the built in fog/driving light...

Can you give me any more info on the black lights?

Looks like they are non D.O.T. (should be stamped on the lense). Do they seem to light the road at night about the same. Looks like it just may be the reflector that is black, so they show up black in the day light.

Thanks ~ Just trying to wrap my head around them...

***Any issues aligning the bumper. I understand that their were some changes to the frame horn legnth from year to year.

PS: Looks like those parts might save me 50% if I can get them wholesale. I'll talk to my body / frame guy tomorrow and see what he can do on discount sheetmetal.

In order for a corner light to be DOT legal all it has to do is produce amber light. Which it does by way of an amber bulb, and th amber lens. The headlights are DOT legal..because the company I bought them from would have their ass fried if thy weren't.

The bumper aligned perfect..just buy the bumper brackets for the same model year bumper youare trying to install. Again my truck is a 96..and I always specified "03" when buying parts....so since you have a 99 you should have no worries.

Not all aftermarket lights are DOT legal. Many companies simply discreetly mark them as off-road or show use only.

My truck is due out of the frame shop tomorrow and I need lights ASAP.

So I called Racing Union, They are selling a 6 piece Black Light set on ebay for about $130 shipped. They are going by seller name x3racing, They said that the lights are NON-DOT and for show only! They are also selling NON DOT stock looking clear headlights for about $50 shipped (per pair). They are going by seller name edixworks on this auction. And their may be more... Buyer be-ware

Anyone know of any other deals???

The good news for today is that Certifit sells aftermarket crash parts directly to the public at wholesale prices.

Looks like I'll need to make the 2 hr drive to Raleigh NC. I know I'm rolling the dice on fit, but I'll save just under $350 as opposed to getting my parts aftermarket locally. For example~ My local shop wants 2x $$$ @ $129 per fender for aftermarket stuff.

Granted Certifit is not OEM but at $56.75 per fender I dont expect perfection. I can work with it and as hard to find as parts are up here, If I don't like it I can resell it at no loss.

My local salvage yard wants $300 per fender and they are the only ones with ANY Tacoma parts.

Got my new DOT 2001 headlights from ebay seller Headlightsdepot and got to use a 15% off Ebay coupon, making them $89.86 for the pair....

Mine is on ICE...

I've got my pile of parts in the shed but the frame shop couldn't bring my frame back to acceptable standards..

So now I'm looking for a drivers side frame rail or a replacment frame.

Meanwhile Other Projects:
swapping an engine in an 02 Grand Vitara XL-7 / Built Caddy 500 into a 4-dr Crew Cab 4wd Chevy / and a Suburban 350 swapped to counter rotation into a 1984 Dixie 299 Super Skier (inboard ski boat) .

Feb 2011 (Frame swap 6" lift and taking a year + off to work on other things has slowed the progress)
