No thread locker!!!!!

Anti-seize all the studs on the side the nuts screw into. If you ever have to take it back apart, you will appreciate the few extra bucks you spent to do so.

Well took me about 8 hours total. Fought me the entire way...even used a lift

Nice to have new hardware the EGR tube did NOT want to line up, ended up loosesning up the driver side of it from the intake.

Only complaint with the install is the dipstick tube (automatic) hits the header too sick of working on it this weekend but probably next weekend I'll grind/trim away at the bracket so it doesnt hit...Idk if the later tacomas have a diff dipstick tube or what??

Anyway no more exhaust leaks and picked up some power (most likely just gaining what I lost thru the cracked mainfold lol

The later Tacomas do have a different tube, but this is the first I have heard of it hitting. I will log that in the brain data! Thanks!

The kit just arrived, everything looks great, new fasteners, gaskets, and of course manifold. Now time to get busy.

certainly prone failure. I love the mini, great sound and so far great results.

Can someone confirm that the header from the 01-04 tacoma 2rzfe and 3rzfe are interchangeable? Trying to find one from the junkyard for my 98 3rzfe.

I can confirm this also on my 98 tacoma, I'm done for today though. I may get a longer bolt and spacer or I may grind the bracket some, not sure yet. I will update with pics of what I decide to do.

Ok I got it fixed, took a few tries

Heres the original problem

I decided to try to grind/cut out the bracket down

Still not happy because it was still touching the header so I had to take a more extreme measure and remake part of the bracket

It was probably overkill and I probably could have just removed the bracket and been fine but I feel better with this solution. And yes I know my valve cover is leaking, that's the next of many projects

All 95-2000 2RZ and 3RZ Tacomas used the same cast manifold.

The kit I sell will fit any 1995.5-2000 2RZ or 3RZ Tacoma that was originally equipped with the Cast iron exhaust manifold.

I saw your post in the other thread regarding a discrepancy with your 2RZ truck. I have personally sold over 100 of these kits without any fitment issues, so I would look to your exhaust and see what the issue may be. Sounds like someone has modified something in the past? Possibly aftermarket cat, muffler, or pipe section?

Or was the manifold you found possibly from a 2001-2004 2RZ Truck? If so, you cannot use the 2001-2004 2RZ manifold. You must use the 2001-2004 3RZ manifold.

The yard told me the mini header came off of a 3rz prerunner, even gave me the vin number.

so I took off the mini header manifold and lined it up with the old manifold. although very similar there were a few key differences causing problems for me. First, the horizontal distance between the outlet flange and the head flange is about half an inch smaller on the mini-header and second, the angle of the outlet flange is angled toward the engine more (by a few degrees). It almost seems that this mini header was bent inward.

Actually, upon further inspection, it appears that there is a bend with some buckling to on of the inlet pipes entering the lower flange... crap... seems like there was some damage when the truck was in its accident. amazing how a few degrees of damage, although almost un-noticeable, can cause such fitment issues.
