Odd noise from front coil spring??
1998 4Runner-Limited.
From front end drivers side. Sounds like a clang (definitely metal) possibly from the coil spring.
I have tracked it down to happening when a specific series takes place:
slowing down to around 5-10 mph (but not necessarily braking), while making a right hand turn and hitting a slight dip or bump in the road.
I have tightened the large nut on the top of the spring (on driver side) when the spring area was making a squeaking sound (it was loose), I think I started to notice this new noise after that, is it possible to over tighten? I just cinched it down as much as possible.
