O2 sensor at 75,000 miles

It seems like 75K is close the magic number in replacing the front O2, if i were to pull the EFI fuse should that keep the check engine light from comming on? Thanks.

i've been told that O2 sensors work like switches... Meaning either they work or they don't...

ok, quick question relating to this thread. but it pertains to my truck. all the sensors, including the o2 sensor, are factory, meaning they have 251,000 miles on them. time to replace them? how much life do sensors typically give?

yeah if they dont work your CE light will come on and your gas mileage will go to crap.

I have 130k on my 4runner and the only reason i replaced the 02 sensor was because there was an exhaust leak on the piece of pipe the 02 sensor is held and it was too rusty to pull the old sensor out...stupid northeast. My 4runner has been through like 4 exhausts

I also have 130k on my 02 sensor and since I have a Cali truck it's also got the A/F ratio sensor and both still work but it does seem my TPS is having an issue and shows an intermittent CEL.

check your owners manual not sure about the new ones but my 1990 states that at 80,000 miles the dealer will replace it for free no labor or parts cost to owner.
