I don't know much about the '93 4runners, but I do know if you get a repair manual (go with chilton's or Hayne's) that can give you an idea just what kind of job your talking about for the head gasket. Early ninetys trucks probably have a lot of vacuum tubing, I know all through the eighties the vacuum lines were horrible. I worked on an '84 Toyota Corolla in auto shop, we had to get the head off to change out burnt exhaust valves. Anyways, there were like 20-some odd vacuum hoses to label to make sure everything fit back together. Bottom line, it could be quite a job, but If you enjoy hands on work, love learning about cars, check to see what the repair manuals will tell you about that kind of repair. If nothing else, the repair manual will help you somewhere else down the road. Good Luck.
