I like it, very nice.
One question though, where do you get airplane landing lights?

Nice, but I'd ditch the area where the turn signal is and put the signal up next to the lights. Better clearance that way. I love the flip-up panel for winch access, good idea!

Those look like standard PAR36 lamps to me, you can get them in almost any configuration from flood to spot and many different wattages. They are the same as what's used on some small aircraft for taxi or "landing lights".

Nice 68 Mustang Coupe in the background. I'm curious about pricing and applications too. I don't think I would need aircraft landing lights but that is a cool idea. Beats having your lights on top of the bumper where they can get vandalized.

Some very interesting designs! It definitely gives me some ideas for mine, which I'm going to do custom.

All the lights not including the hellas are interchangable. If you want signal lights up top. No problem. The Aircraft landing lights as Shane mentioned can be switched to flood, driving, fog, whatever you want. All lights excluding hellas can be switched to LED,amber, clear, you name it. This bumper will be made to fit all tacomas from 98 to 2004. It will fit all 4runners excluding the newest ones . Im not up with the 4 runner terminolgy. What generation is what year? I still have to do some research on brand new 4 runners but i will make it fit those too hopefully. I havent worked out the price yet. All costs arent in. Weight?? about 70 lbs. I will take pictures today with the bumper on my truck. It looks really good.
Thanks for all the compliments .

Good looking bumper.

Since I already have a front TJM bumper, I could use a rear bumper for my 4Runner.

Looks like the front has some bent curves at the corners, so if you can do that, you could do the bending and fabbing to make a real nice rear bumper that would bend to return along the sides like the factory bumper. Since nobody seems to make anything like that there should be a market for that as well. I know I would be, even if it isn't real cheap.

4Runner Generation years:

1st Gen - 85-89
2nd Gen - 90-95
3rd Gen - 96-02
4th Gen - 03-until?

So, you think they will be able to work on a 2nd Gen 4Runner? Please keep us posted on prices and such - I really like that bumper!

I realy like it, the only thing I would change (if I had the money to get you to make me my dream bumper) would be use just one set of hellas and put turn signas like in on the 2001 taco bumper on your webshots beside them. I realy like the flip up winch box and the hellas in the bumper and the nice angled corners. It is my favorite by far. Like I said before if I only had the cash!

Where/ how does the bumper mount up? I know that most tacomas/pickups/ 4runners have the same frame and alot of the same mounting points. My dad's 2002 tacoma's bull bar lined up perfectly on my 87 truck, so depending on you how have it mounted, earlier gens might be able to install it.

Thanks CTB. Very helpfull.
All toyota bumpers are basically the same. The only difference is slightly different mounting locations and body style is a bit different. So the bumper will definitely fit a 2nd generation. Ive built a bumper for a 2nd Gen so i know it will fit.
This bumper mounts to the frame. It bolts to the end of the frame and the side of the frame with a through bolt. It has a 1/2 inch gusset running from the lower frame mount up to the winch box section. (triangulated) It also bolts to the upper mount location where your original bumper bolts up. Ive reinforced the winch compartment box section with an additional 1/4 inch of plate steel.1/4 +1/8=3/8
Ive gone away from using stock Toyota signal lights solely because its a real PITA. Too bad really because those Tacoma lights are nice. The lights ive gone to using offers many more options. You can choose any light you want and throw it in.
Ive been asked several times to build rear bumpers for 4 runners but just havent gotten around to it. Just because i dont own a 4 runner. If someone wants to donate their runner i will build a nice one with nice curves. Lights in it. Whatever.
Sorry but I wont know the cost until next week. This bumper is very time consuming to build. It has alot of details that you cant see but is very important to me and to the structural design.
Inside the bumper which you cant see ive welding in wire loom retainers so you can zip tie up all your wiring. Makes for a neat package.
