Look under it, if you have cones inside of your coils, the recall was done. You might as well have it done for free because you'll want those bumpstops when/if you lift.

Thanks...I'll check. Will a dealership still preform the recall even though my truck has 120k miles on it and I'm the third owner?

They should. I'm not entirely sure about that since it was Canadian. Give it a shot, let them figure out it was from Canada..don't tell them. 1800-MY-Toyota could tell you. Have your VIN ready.

how much weight do you carry in the rear? How does the new Tundra front setup match up with the 891s? Any idea on the amount of front lift?

I carry 2 subs, an amp, a heavy box, and a small toolbox. So I bet I'm at 200lbs. It matches pretty well with the 891s, but my hunch is that the Downey coils will ride softer-slightly more like the Tundra coils. The tundra coils yield more than my 882's did, so I'm willing to bet I got almost 3"...that's all I know at the moment.

false. Toyota publishes that their TRD springs are progessive. check TTORA, TS, Google.

according to my findings, the 2WD and 4WD TRD coils are progessive, the non-TRD 2WD and 4WD are not progessive.

"Off-Road-tuned" means what? Progressive rate coils? probably.

so will progressive rate coils tuned for the heavier Tundra hurt the IFS flex? Still waiting Schaeffer...

I don't have anything to add. The coils Andy has are not progressive.

TRD does not make them, it's all marketing BS.

My suggestion to you as well is to stop following this thread and do not install these coils.

Nice to hear that you got good results as well. They feel MUCH better than the 882's IMO. Total NIGHT-and-DAY difference between them.

3 more pics of the "after" Tundra Lift (w/ 1" RB BL installed)... from THIS post...

Andy- Glad to see the Sahara Bar worked well with the 1" BL...
If somebody gives me some tips on exactly where to measure, I'll disconnect the sway bar and try to get out today.... Also, what about your Downey coils? Better ride? You *look* a little low in the rear? I get a full 3" from my 891's.

Gapguy:

Yeah, it was a little low, but that's w/ a ton of other stuff back there in the pic. i'll probally add a 3/8" spacer to the conical bumpstop when I get around to it.

Measure from the center of the hub to the bottom edge of the fender. Do that sitting on flat ground, then flex it w/ the sway bar disconnected and measure the same thing agian at all 4 wheels. Post your numbers and I'll do the calcs.

That's right. All your quotes seem to be about the Tacoma coil and not specifically the Tundra. The Tundra is completely different.
