if the tacoma TRD shocks are used instead of N91S, does this eliminate the need for limit straps?

Steve, if the 7 wrap coils are indeed 1995's. Did you happen to confirm which ones are 8 wraps by any chance?

No freakin clue. Mine and Jim's both came from bonified 1995's and have the same color codes. The 96 and 97 have different part number and well as the 91-94 have different part numbers than the 95.

Don't know, don't care, buy the 95's. Since I don't have any stock suspension left, my interest in this is limited.

Well, since mine has the gas tank in the rear, I'd rather get the 8 wrap coils than the 7 wrap's. Thanks Steve,

Chris

The TRD's in the front w/ NO spacer will be 1.5"

With one spacer, it's 2.0"

the 7-wrap coils in the rear are about 3.5" w/o extra weight.

Andy, the spacer is the same thing as the Revtek one I've been running forever, right?

same as the Revtek Top Out spacer that's 3/8" thick. You'll also need the longer studs in your top plate.

Yeah, I've been running that setup with cornfed spacers for a long time, so at least I don't have to buy anything but the coils for this.

That was the case with us and our winches and TJM and ARB bumpers, but I have done 10+ of these installs locally and the 3rd Gens with stock front bumpers and no winches are up around 2.5" with one spacer.

Obviously the winch/bumper does make a difference. So if your a stocker, try just the coils first.

The exception would be Mark Fit with his crazy brush guard and the stock front bumper on his 2000. That thing sagged every coil thrown at it.

Now he has a T-15 and I bet that problem is solved.

I have some pics of those TRD Tokico's up against some $1000 SAW's. Save your money and go TRD Blue.

I'll post the pic when I get time. Things change and get better. If we find someting better it will replace this, but at this point, I don't see how you could get any better, the only thing would be to get a 2" lift coil that did not need the top out spacer.

Maybe I'll buy and install a new set of the 95 coils before my drive to Colorado. I can use the extra help in the rear with all the crap that will be packed into the back of the 4Runner.

I have a set. You have a set of shocks I want. Lisa has a Double Cab TRD right?

Yep. 2004 4WD TRD D-Cab. The only concern is when I can throw a lift on the truck. When I can get them to you might not be quick enough for your project. We can talk about it when I call this weekend.

Is one side slightly longer than the other?
2004 Toyota TRD Tacoma Double Cab stock front shocks. Order two shocks.
48510-A9160 - Tokico TRD Blue
What's the compressed and extended lengths? And, how does this compare to the OME's everyone's been running for so long?

Yes. Ones a drives side, ones a passenger side.

The front OME shock is too long. Too much droop and the CV's come apart from too much angle. While the OME shock has a nice huge shaft, it is not the best choise here requieing limiting straps to pull it back.

How long is it? Just as long as a set of $1000 Camburg SAW's.

Which are the same as the 2.0 SAW's, which are the same as an Aftermarket Bilstein.

This is NOT the stock black shock that came on your truck.
