hey guys I just reserved coils from 2005 tundra DC 4x4 limited! but its not a TRD from what the guy said and also it came with Tockiko schocks! you think this setup will work on my 1998-3rd gen 4x4 limited with TJM-15

will it "work"? sure.

will it be the same? nope.

the TRD coils are progressive and ride smoother than non-TRD coils.

i've had NON-TRD 2WD coils and they were stiff as hell w/ spacers on them (compared to the TRD's) - but still not as stiff as the OME 882's that i had on there for about 6 days. the TRD's are night and day difference.

don't think so.

most ppl just get what works. i've tried the NON-TRD stuff and it's simply not as good as the TRD stuff.

if you're getting them for super cheap or free, then get the DCab struts and sell them as a set on ebay. use that money to buy the TRD coils and some OME struts from http://www.toyotapartsales.com and then you'll be good to go.

if they're not super cheap or free, then don't waste your time and just save up for the good stuff.

does anyone know the length of the tundra coils at ride height and how many wraps they have off hand? this could work on 05 tacoma's as well because the front coils on my TRD Sport are only 11" compressed and i think i remember these coils being longer than that and having more wraps.

Hey everyone I am new on this site and I see that you have some great rigs. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about what to do to my 98 Ltd 4runner. I want to lift it a little but keep it looking nice and very road worthy as well. I have had the big 33X15.50 superswampers on Jeep or Heep so I am looking to make my runner trail worthy although these stock runners will go some places. But I still want to be able to drive it around town and not make it just hard core trail rig.

2" front, 2.5 to 3" rear.

If you have a winch, add the Andy or Revtek spacer to the front only.

23.5 extened versus 21.2 extended. You are going to have to run the bigger bumpstops to reduce compression 1". Either the bolt on ones I make or the big bumpstop with the stud. Other than that, knock yourself out.

These stock shocks have the same dampening as an aftermarket 4Runner shock, since the 80 is alot bigger and the shock is for a bigger truck.

For all the nitty gritty, read my recomendation page. And yes the TRD Tokico shocks are aftermarket long.

Yes. You'll reshape it a bit, but that seems to happen anyway.

Very interesting, indeed.
I had Tundra Billie HD's with the Tundra Coils on the last rig, and they were awesome. The only benefit I see here is cost?
