This could be overkill, and probably is, but I am getting different color variations when asking different people in the forum about the colors of the Tundra Coils. When accessing 1st Toyota Parts, it lists 4 variations of the same model number, however the years differ too. I think Neil has yellow/yellow and blue/yellow. Schaefer told me to use purple/yellow and red/yellow. I am completely confused right now. Why all of the color variation and which ones do I need for the TRD 4WD Tundra coils? I know the part numbers, but I need the specfic year and color please. Thanks everyone

All you need are the part numbers. The years don't matter. If you order the AF090/AF100 coils you'll get the Yellow/Yellow & Blue/Yellow coils.

Go here and type in the part number and select Toyota.

Ooops, I have to fix that, the part numbers I gave you are yellow-yellow, blue-yellow.

That was before we knew.

Whew...I feel better knowing that both you and Neil are in agreement about the colors being yellow-yellow, blue-yellow. Did either of you order through 1st Toyota parts? I'm just wondering whether I should call them to try to verify the colors when ordering?

Ok, fixed.

http://fastq.com/~sschaefer/Tundra_Coils.html

That was from when Andy was buying coils from eBay and kept getting 2WD stuff.

I updated it. The part numbers were always right.

I have ordered 3 sets from them with those part numbers. You'll get the right colors.

Also the parts guys will have no clue what the colors are, only the factory has that info. We already went through all this.

Alright guys, thank for the help. I'll put in my order tomorrow and update as I install. Can't wait to try out this new setup! Many thanks to Andy, Steve, Neil and the rest of the people that helped me decide on this setup.

Newb??? Check I've been a member of the forum a lot longer than you. Just 'cause I don't post much doesn't mean I'm new....

Then you should know better than to post up asking questions...not having read the whole thread.

Front:

For 2.5" to match OME 890/891/892

Two sets of AE Spacers and one set of extended studs: $80 shipped
One set of Tundra TRD 4WD Coils: about $200 shipped (NEW)
One set of OME N91s Struts: about $220 shipped (NEW)
Re-use OEM top plate and rubber washer.

Total: about $500 new. You might be able to pick up some Tundra TRD coils in the $100 range if you're patient and look on ebay and Tundra Solutions.

If you're like me and go with the Downey's and carry a little weight in the back, then a single set of front spacers will be pretty level so you can knock off another $33.

Compare those prices to the OME stuff. 880's are way too short and will require a 2" or 2.5" Cornfed spacer that's $150. 881's are still too short and will require a 1" or 1.5" Cornfed spacer and that's still $150. 882's are stiff as hell, and by that time, you don't get as good of flex. They will also eventually sag as you flex them, requiring you to put in trimpackers or some of my spacers anyway.

OME coils are about $180 or so shipped. Add $150 for Cornfeds, then you're at $330 just to get the spring and lift. The Tundra setup is $280 and it gives a better ride and MUCH better flex at the same time. They use the same strut, so that's a wash when comparing numbers.

I really think I would be content with the 2", Two spacer will be a beast to get in position, even with the 4 lower bolts out. Also the higher you go, the more CV wear. 2.5" is way worst than 2". Also with an Old Man Emu shock you will have to run limiting straps for sure.

For two spacers, I would get a shorter shock.

I am running Tundra coils with 2 OME trim packers and no top spacer. This is giving me a lot more lift than my previous setups. I cant see how anyone would need 2 top spacers since i am getting approx 2.5" lift without one and i run a TJM/winch.

Two trimpackers would be about the same thing as two top spacers as far as height goes...

Bingo! But the ride will be stiffer. Got to keep it silly soft.

Alcan should keep me silly soft as well.
