Ok, I took the Tundras through Martinez. They did great as well as the stock/modified a-arms.

Gaylon, you got yourself a prestine set of ATS arms.


BUT...............


The Tundra coils ARE NOT for everyone. They are soft, very very soft. They are perfect for me and Andy will get a big wet kiss when ever I see him, but if you only wheel once or twice a year, I think I would build a set of Frankensteins with the 99 4Runner coils.

The Tundra coils with the front and rear sway bars are like the 4Runner coils with the front bar off. They are nice and soft and hug the terrain like crazy, Typically a stiff front end will make the rear do all the work, for articulation. Tundra coils do not, they pull their weight. The truck with the lift still works like it should, like a stock truck does, but you are 2" higher and are rolling on 35's.

i agree with this, took mine to tellico this weekend, ride is great, one guy that was there with SAWS came with me on a rescue trip where we did some fast driving on gravel roads to get to the trails and then ran two trails in and out and is now a firm believer. They ride like a cadillac. They are very soft, and do soak up small jumps rather well as i accidentally found out

I wouldnt say the SAWs are crap, I currently have them w/the top out spacer and have "softened" the coil a bit by lowering the adjustment collar. I was able to take them down a full inch.
I still have the same amount of lift, but I can now stuff them closer to the bumpstops, about 1/8" away.
Before adding the spacer the closest I could come to touching was about an inch!
Now I am in SoCal and go to the desert alot, so the ability to soak up the washboard floors of the desert is good for me. Plus I have always loved the freeway ride they give.
So the spacer was an acceptable medium for me, it allows me a little more stuff on the crawling type trails and still have the ability to handle the high speed desert runs.

Do the tunrda coils cause your body roll to a lot more on the street?

I'm really not noticing these coils being softer than 4Runner coils. I feel better handling over stock, and these work much better offroad than the 882's or SAW's. More body roll, it's lifted, so yes...but nothing excessive.

Umm..more than SAW's, but that's simply because they pack a 650lb spring! I haven't run 4R coils with spacers.

Not true for Taylor. You have not run stock coils in a long time. I did the minute before the Tundra coils.

Also HUGE difference. You have HIGH PRESSURE GAS Bilstein shocks, if they are Yellow. The OME front shock is LOW PRESSURE GAS, huge difference.

The Red Bilstein Andy has is supposed to be low pressure, but Ihave never seen one. Compareing the Yellow Bilstein to a Heavy Duty OME shock is like comparing 2 things soo different, it's would be crazy.

You definitely get more body roll, but my driving style has calmed down a ton over the last few years, so going a touch slower around the bends doesn't bother me a bit.

Finally, I have almost everything installed and WOW!!! Thanks to everyone who has helped with the best suspension setup. The only thing i have left to do is switch out those god awful yellow billies in the rear. The ride is soft adn it takes bumps with ease. Just wanted to say thanks again

Gald to hear that you like it.

It's soft, but it really soaks up the bumps and does incredible off road.

its already on, its always been on. but the swaybar didnt help with the body roll?

Yeah, it helped alot, but your going to get more than lets say stock coils with spacers.

So coming from the SAW's and the 881's it will be a pretty good change for you.

Just go slower.

geeze. i feel like i already have a lot of body roll. after i switched to 881s from SAWs, the 881s felt a lot more stable, less roll. but the 881s arent cutting it for me, they drove me nuts this weekend on my first real 4WD trip since they were on. they have a real hard time compressing and extending over quick, sharp bumps on the forest service roads, its quite jarring.

That's a good combo, just keep all "inside the assembly" spacers far far away from those. You could run Andys top out but NO CORNBRED or REVTEK inside style spacers.

You'll destroy it.
