New Suspension Setup - TRD Front Lift for a 3rd Gen 4Runner!
#262
I do. An extra 1/2" of daylight underneath never hurts anyways....I think so many people underestimate lifts. I'll say I have 2" of suspension lift and some idiot says I'd need at least 13" to do ANYTHING and .5" won't make a difference.

Batch 1 of the spacers were shipped to me this morning. I should have them tomorrow or Friday... When they arrive, I'll post a pic and put an ad in the For Sale and Group Buy sections. I have 30 sets available out of 32. As soon as I get about 20 sets sold, I'll start on batch two and add the 1/2" thick material and possibly some 3/4" thick material in addition to the 3/8" thick ones. I'll also add some rear trim spacers to the availability.

Once it's good and all set streight, I'll sell it off. The ATS Arms are fine with the SAW or other Bling coil overs since the coil diameter is smaller.
Some one in SoCal will be very happy with them. I just don't live in SoCal.

I have the skinny bling bling coils and don't rock crawl, so they will be useful to me.

I'm not going to sell anything until, the dust settles. The left arm is on the saw right now.
If this thing does not loose some lift, I might have to go back.
We'll see tonight and tomorrow morning when I get it aligned.
Also I have a full set of brand new bushings for the ATS arms so after I dust them off, and but the new bushings in, they will be like new.

If it's 3.5" of Suspension Lift, then I have some 2WD NON-TRD Tundra Coils that will lower it by EXACTLY 1.5". The 2WD Tundra guys get 1.5" of lift from the 4WD TRD Tundra Coils, so these may be what you're looking for.

Well with 2 shaved stock arms and the cams all the way out. I have 2 3/4" of lift.
Soooooooooooooooo. Out comes the Revtek spacer and I hope to heck the thing does not go up anymore with the alignment, but it seemed to get higher the more you crank the cams in.
Why in the world would I get all this lift just by changing the upper arms?
I don't get it?

Ok one Revtek is off. I have to go get the kid from school.
So this really opened a can of worms. Now we don't even know for sure if stock 4Runner V6 coils will or will not lift a 4cyl.

Anyways, with the spacer removed you should be right where you want to be right?
Do you suspect any rubbing the fender issues since the ball joint location moved?

Ok I pulled the Revteks and now it sits at 1.75" ???
I'm going to leave it, because when I was screwing around with the cams, I gained lift when moving them in. I'll see where I stand after the alignment tomorrow.
I can always put them back in.

that sounds about right to me because i apparently am at just over 2" with my v6 limited with no extra weight up front or top out spacer, just the coils and rubber isolator.

Ok after the alignment, which they got the truck in "perfect" alignment. It sits exactly at 2" with the Revtek top outs back in.
I did have to add the limiting straps because with the top outs and even the stock arms, the back of the ball joints still hit the coil. Now they come right to it and make the slightest contact but should not colide. I would get a clicking sound before when wheeling. Hopefully the straps will stop that.
I have 2.5" of droop now, with the straps which is fine. I have gobs of stuff. I bet I can stuff the tire up a full 7" from sitting still. That would be 9.5" of travel. Good enough for me.
Oh, Ihad to MAJORLY cut into the stock arms again, to the point of opening up areas again, so more 1/4" plate went in. The original shave worked fine for going streight but I clearnced them for the full turning radius at full droop. Alot of work.
Too much work to do again. If you want to run 35's try to find the most stock like SoCal bing arms and run it. The closer to stock the better, but they are all going to lean to changing it to suit high speed desert. Good Luck.
I have to do the 2nd arm today and that will be at least another 4 hours.
Looking like 20 hours to build custom stock arms. Materials are nothing, it's all labor and tons of grinding.
