New starter is in, thank God for body lifts
Just finished installing my new starter (89.99 + core at autozone). With the 3" body lift, I didn't have to take off the wheel or put it on a jack. Did have to use a breaker bar for the top bolt though. Took about an hour and a half in the parking lot of Frat Row, I did get assaulted by fire ants though.
Big thanks to Kevin for doing the writeup, I didn't even have to look at the manual.

I did mine too this week end and it only cost me around $25.00 bucks. All I did is removed and replaced the contacts, but it is a PITA to remove the starter from the engine without a body lift. I ended up using jack/jack stands, removed the wheel, the access panel inside the fender well. I have to disconnect two vaccum lines from the ADD to facilitate the removal process. The whole process took me about an hour and a half. Replacing the contacts is a piece of cake. Removal of starter is the real pain.
For those of you who would like to know the new part numbers for the contacts are # 28226-72080 this is the battery side, # 28226-70040 this is the motor side and both these contacts cost me $11.88 each plus tax.
Now the starter rocks, one click and starts right away.
