New to me 1997 4Runner SR5
Well everything finally came together and I picked up my 1997 4Runner on Thursday. Im the 3rd owner. Its got 147K on the odo and is very clean. I love it already! Its got a 3" Daystar lift with Helomaxx 16" wheels and 265-70-16 Toyo Open Countrys. Its got a Flowmaster 40 I think muffler and sounds good. I have a few little issues to fix like the power antenna and the right front headlight is cracked and the rear wiper doesnt work and the window wont go down but other then that I am diggin' it. It came with the factory 16" wheels which I stripped the clearcoat off of this morning. I am going to sand them and use etching primer and paint them black. I am going to try to paint the centercaps chrome and see how it looks. If that doesnt look so good then I may just paint everything black. Then I am mounting some Winterforce tires on them on Monday and these will be my winter wheels so I can keep the Helo's clean and salt free. This site has definately helped me already and is addicting! I already have new headlight and tailights picked out along with about 5 other mods I want to do! Hopefully theres some $$ left after Christmas.

yeah that truck looks beautiful. (white trucks always are).
i think that little plastic fake aerodynamic thing on the front hood looks aweful (not on you truck, but in general on all yota trucks)
take those runningboards off! :]

Thanks guys.........I have to keep the running boards as my 6 and 8 year olds need them to get into the 4runner. The bug deflector is another story though....It may grow on me but I kinda doubt it. I am more excited about this truck then I was when I brought my 05 Tundra home. I think its the cheaper insurance, better gas mileage and the fact that I have the title in my hand and NO PAYMENT that has me the most excited!

I thought the same thing, but now when I see a runner w/o a bug shield, it looks out of place. It's definitely a preference of mine that's grown on me the past year I've owned it- kinda hard to miss it when driving Congrats on the 4runner too!

Congrats (as already said in the other thread) I love the white so much!! Hope to see you around OH. Maybe you can visit your niece and we can check out the Runners.
Bummer about the running boards, our trucks look so much better without them!

Great looking truck. I've got a white one as well and they are one of the better colours they come in. Just an FYI the rear window probably doesn't work because the wiper doesn't work. If you fix the wiper the window should start working or vice versa.
