New ( To Me ) 16" Wheels and Tires
Got a good deal on some used 16" Tires and Wheels. Remington Wide Brute AW with chrome 5 spoke 4runner rims. $300 for all. 90% tread left on the tires. Tires are 265/70/16.
Anyone had any problems running 16's as opposed to 15's? I took it for a ride after I installed them and did not notice any rubbing. It sits a bit higher which I really like! BTW this is on a 4X2.
I will post some before and after pics this weekend after I get it all cleaned up.

Just be aware that due to the larger size of the 16's, your speedometer will be off... there are calculators to figure out exactly how much... my guess is when your speedo says 60, you'll be doing 65 or more.

The larger size of the 16's won't do anything to your speedometer. The size of the tire is what matters. With a 265/70/16, your speedometer won't be off by much, those tires are slighty larger than the stock tires that came with the 16" factory wheels. What size tires did you have on your 15" wheels?

There is a slight speedo change due to the tires. Go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
and check it out.
and check it out.

Here are the before and after pics. The first pic is before, the second pic is after. I really like the bigger tires, they fill up the wheel wells more. The new tires and rims lifted my truck over an inch. I still need to clean up the rims a bit, I just wanted to install them, I was too excited to clean them up.
I am so glad that I found this board! You guys have helped me out so much!!
Thanks!!!!!

Antoher dumb ? that I forgot to ask. If the new tire and rim size causes the speedo to register 5 MPH slower than I am actually going, what does it do to the odometer??? Do I register more miles or less?
Cheers!
