New guy... 93 toyota pickup
My first post on this board, I was reffered here by someone on Tacoma Territory (delphi forums)...
So in deciding to get a 93 toyota... I will be traveling up and down Cali alot and was wondering if the stock engine can handle it (i.e. grapevine, hills, etc. for those of you that travel in Cali).
Also, what kind of low end mods will give me more power over those hills. I'm not using it for off roading or anything, just commuting and visiting family and the occasional camping trip (considering it will be a 2x4, 4cyl) but I don't want to be stuck like my buddies 4cyl Ford -- even the new ones -- Ranger (yikes! sorry for the profainity) going 55 miles an hour over the grapevine.
Air box mod (Filter)? Exhaust? Headers (by the way, im not quite sure exactly what new headers would do --I know exhaust and air filter mods allow more air to the engine for better combustion-- so if someone could kindly explain it to me -- that'd be sweet). How much would these mods cost? Hard to install? Any other additional information would be nice. I plan on being one of those anal guys who changes his oil every 3000 miles and checks the fluids every week, etc... just for fun... lol, or the fact that I dont have a lot of money to be fixing a broken down truck
Kevin
(also of someone has one for sale for around 3000/3500...)
P.S. If this has already been covered, please give me the thread...
Thanks again!
