new to this forum & code 61

I am new to this forum but have been cruising it for a few months. Got my runner a few months ago. Went to the stealership before I got it and ran the codes and ended up replacing the o2 sensor(myself:big deal right ) and just got the code 52 fixed/ knock sensor replaced by a real mechanic. I am glad I didnt have the cohonys to get beyond the intake plenum because i probably would have screwed the timing chain up. I gave it an effort, though. I learned how jump the diag box and get codes and am on the last one which btw the stealership didnt get but the o/d off light was blinking. It is a code 61 2nd speed sensor or connection problem. Just for board info, because I have searched for this here and didnt find it, I will describe the symptoms. The o/d off light would start blinking usually when I was coasting to a stop or when I was at full speed and cruising at 40/50 mph. The speedometer needle bounces slightly so maybe that has something to do with it as a symptom. When the truck is cold like first thing in the am it shifts a little stiff but not too bad and it goes away quickly. (I don't think it is related but I thought I would mention it, JIC.) So thanks to this board I found the speed sensor.I removed the loose cable and replaced it but it is still blinkin off the light so I guess I need a sensor. I found one for not 270$ but 61$ at a parts store. Has anyone ever replaced one. I removed the bolt and metal shim thing that holds it on and it just kinda spins in place and I didn't want to pull it out in ignorance. Post is a little long winded, I know But my first one had to be good. :xmas13:
