New Clutch Question???? Slippage
Just had a new clutch kit installed in my rig. Old one was slippin pretty bad. Come to find out it was the original clutch that was in there at 180k miles. It still had some life in it because the rear main seal was bad and leaking oil onto the plate causing the slipping.
Anyway, after having the work done the clutch still slips when there is alot more resistance to it besides road driving. I tried to drive up the curb to my back yard and had to get a running start. Couldn't do it from a stand still, the clutch just slipped and emitted that wonderful aroma of a burning clutch. Is the clutch adjustable in how much pressure it produces? Could the rear main seal have gone out agian? I called the shop where it was done and they said the master cylinder could be out of adjustment. I dont really know what I'm talking about and cant explain it real well.

so your truck slips with a new clutch.....
have them do it AGAIN!!! it should not ever slip--ever, even if its burning (which causes the plate to expand and stop slipping). Take back to shop--say "shop, fix now, you broke!"
