New brakes
I have a 2000 4runner w/ 15" wheels. I was wanting to upgrade my brakes at 60,000 miles, plus I was getting shaking when hard braking (I've been told this is due to warped rotors). Mostly I wanted to upgrade, but I've read that these years rotors tend to warp easy. Well, I installed LCE rotors and EBC pads, and the runner is still shacking when hard braking. My question is, is there another reason the runner would shake when hard braking, especially downhill? The only reason I thought is that the EBC pads have like a sandpaper like finish that is called a breakin material, which I've never seen on new pads.

If the shaking is occurring during braking only, then I doubt it's your balance. And I'm not sure if the rotors not being seated properly could cause that.

Yeah, I have the same problem when braking. I jacked up the front and tried to 'free-spin' the wheels (I have manual hubs). The passenger spun so sweet, but the driver's side would only move with some force. I guess I found the culprit.
I need help like you do. So, should we buy new rotors? have them resurfaced?

keep an eye out for the fine print... NO SHOP GIVES SOMETHIGN AWAY!!!! usually the offer the free brake inspection, if they determine you need work done, its free if you do it with them, they recoupe the time spent on it when doing your brakes.... most shops however will cahrge $20 for a brake inspection that was supposed to be free when they find out that you want to do the work yourself.....
this is how it was at the shop i used to work @, and pretty much all the other shops i have come in contact with....
