need new front rotors to fit my 16" Pro Comp steelies

Ok, I'm aware the "which brake set-up is best" topic has been covered, so I'm leaning towards slotted Brembos for my 01 4Runner (which originally came with the 16" "sport" rims and package) But the question now is whether my 16X8 Pro Comp steelies will clear the new rotors. Are the new rotors going to be much wider than the OEM? I'm planning on going bigger just because I'll be towing a trailer and I see this as an opportunity to make a worthwhile upgrade. Please help me out as I need to make this decision fairly soon so I can get everything installed before the trip back home with the trailer. Thanks guys.

I got my powerstop slotted rotors and ebc 4x4 brake pads at www.autopartswarehouse.com for cheap. total cost was like 250ish with shipping. Mine were OME replace size so I had no problems. I don't know if they have anything bigger though, but I have seen some drilled rotors there.

yeah I know the other guys are asking about the tundra upgrade but my main concern is fitting with the steelies, otherwise I'd be all set.

How are the powerstops working? I was worried about cheapo rotors but if others have run them without problems then maybe...

As it's been said thousands and thousands of times, slotted rotors will only cost you more money and stopping power. Just get blanks and tundra 199mm calipers from Autozone and call it good. As far as fitment, most likely with a 16x8 rim and 4.5" backspacing, you'll be okay, but I'll let others chime in about that. Make sure to get some good ceramic pads (Hawk LTS, for example--available from tirerack.com).

I haven't had any problems with my powerstop slotted. no vibration or soft feeling. the pad and rotor setup i have stops excellent when i need to. had to usem today again in this cali traffic. I've been told that it's ok to have either/or slotted or drilled rotors just never at the same time unless your racing otherwise you're just wasting money. From what read you should be ok with your steelie setup like cack said. There is definetly alot of different brands out there now, but a lot of them I've never heard of. So to be safe just stick with ones you know. I went with the powerstop instead of brembos because they cost the same but the PS were slotted. Couldn't find Brembo slotted for my runner. I know a lot places can do price matching, so if you find a good deal online which is usually cheaper just print a copy and take it to where ever company you go and ask if they do so. I did that with my tires and saved like 200.
