need HELP finding a place to install my lift in LA
OK I live in LA and I am getting my 4runner lifted with EMU Springs all around and taking off the old Cornfed Spacer lift I have now. I need to find a shop to trust with doing it right and for a good price. Most places I have called say about 400 bucks to get it done and then I need an alignment too. but I am not sure i trust them. I would love a good review from a shop someone has delt with before.
So I live in Rowland Heights, Ca 91748
I have a 2000 4runner v6 2wd
Tires: BF TA KO 32/11.5r15
Yeah I know lifting a 2wd in LA is a bit stupid, but I go out to the desert to rock hound with the family. The lift and tires have come in handy and the 4runner even 2wd handles everything I have putit through.
Thanks for any help on this!!!!!

Try this #, they are pretty cool guys. Not sure about cheap though. Work is quality. I know they recently moved but it was right down the street. Might have to call 411. I just did a quick google search.
Call these guys too. Bigger operation, might be cheaper. They cater to a lot of 2wd stuff. i see alot of there stuff around South County OC.

If still too much I can put you in touch with my buddy who owns a shop in La Habra, called Pole Position Automotive. Sometimes he doesn't mind doing stuff like that for friends. He is a fellow 4wheeler. $400 sounds about right from a shop, and you will need an alignment

I'll try to drive by where the new shop was. I hope they didn't go under. They did really good work. It sucks to see the quality shops going under because of the economy. I'll talk to some friends as well see if anyone recommends a install/fab shop. Have you contacted 4Wheel Parts in either Santa Ana or Compton? I know Santa Ana on Grand Ave, has a shop attached for installs. Compton might just be distribution.

Did the spacer lift on the truck with the help of a shop lift and a buddy, I moved and now I have no lift to take it to. I don't want to do it at the house and have the truck down for more then a few days and sitting on jack stands. I also don't have the air tools to take everything off. Need to have it up and back on the road ASAP so a shop is my only hope.

IMZZ Inc is right down the street from my house. My buddy works at Buckshot racing next store and said they are legit and do great work. They might be too big for what you want, but I'm sure they will do it and do it right. They always have really nice rigs out front of their shop.
They are on Lambert @ Harbor Blvd in La Habra - Phone: (562) 905-0072
I agree with Scuba. Do it yourself. Its a day job at best. Autozone will lend you tools you might not have. Besides air tools, what do you need, spring compressor?

How big of a hurry are you in to get it done? I work professionally doing design and fabrication work for a performance shop, but do other things like this on the side. Normally i would be able to do it right away, but we are looking for a new place to move, so my weekends have been filled w/ looking at ghetto overpriced rental houses oh and i'm out in ontario/rancho cucamonga area if it matters.

Thanks for all the help Stagger, I called the shop the guy who does the installs was out to lunch so I am just waiting to hear back.
Yeah just need air tools and a spring compressor and a 6 pack, I am thinking more about doing it my self just worried about running into a snag and not having my DD for work after the weekend. But I guess it's always a what if when you do anything like this on this on your DD.

Looks like I will be going the BL route to lift the truck. I can do the body lift at the house with out a problem. I will call these guys for the needed side step for the 4runner.
Thanks Stagger_Lee

If you can do a body lift, a spring lift should be easier. The back should take about 1-1.5 hrs depending on the top shock mount. For the front, I would consider taking the somewhere to have the springs mounted. The front assemblies are pretty easy to remove.
